DYNAMIC DUO
We're very excited about this one. Robert De Niro and Al Pacino will reteam for the first time since "Heat" for the $60 million crime thriller "Righteous Kill" reports Teletext. "Entrapment" helmer Jon Avnet directs Russell Gewirtz's script ("Inside Man"). It centers on two detectives on the trail of a serial killer.

CBS ANNOUNCES SKED
CBS announced their schedule for next season and I must say, The Big Eye network seems to be have some pretty intriguing shows. Here's a taste:

VIVA LAUGHLIN - a mystery drama about freewheeling businessman whose sole ambition is to run a casino in Laughlin, Nev.; CANE - Stars Jimmy Smits in an epic drama about the power struggles of a large Cuban-American family running a successful rum and sugar business in South Florida; MOONLIGHT - Joel Silver's ("The Matrix," Trilogy) drama about an "undead" private eye; KID NATION - a reality series where 40 kids will have 40 days to build a new world located in a ghost town that died in the 19th Century. These kids, ages 8-15, will spend more than a month without their parents or modern comforts in Bonanza City, N.M., attempting to do what their forefathers couldn't - build a town; SWINGTOWN, a drama that peeks into the suburban homes of the swingin' '70s.

ANOTHER NEEDLESS REMAKE
Variety reports that 20th Century Fox will remake "Taps," the awesome 1981 military drama that starred George C. Scott, Tom Cruise, Timothy Hutton and Sean Penn. A mistake... In any case, it centered on cadets who seize control of their military school as construction looms to make way for condos.
