“I liked Star Trek growing up and I’ve seen the new one. It’s good. I liked it.”

So... There you have it. He spoke.

STAR WARS vs STAR TREK (hilarious)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. They say there are only like 20 basic plots in the world. And after taking that into consideration, notice all the similarities between George Lucas’ "Star Wars: A New Hope" and JJ Abrams’ "Star Trek." Check out this hilarious College Humor video that may contain a few spoilers.

DARABONT'S 'INDY' SCRIPT LEAKED

The horror! Cybergeeks and fanboys thought it would never happen but alas, two reviews are up of the Frank Darabont version of the "Indiana Jones IV" script which leaked online last week.

The basic gist is that they all the complained about silly stuff (fridge, monkeys, mothership) that's still in there, but the rest is of better quality - especially Marion's character. Check the reviews here and here.

LUCAS DISHES - 'SPIDEY SILLY' & MORE 'STAR WARS'

At the recent Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala -- you know, the one where Cate Blanchett arrived looking like a ghoul -- Hollywood deity George Lucas had a few interesting things to say, namely to Fox News about a small film called "Spider-Man 3."

Lucas told reporter Roger Friedman that he's seen all of the huge tentpole films due to some out this summer since his company, Industrial Light and Magic, does their special effects.

Interestingly, the only one ILM didn't work on was "Spider-Man 3." Hmmm, so what did Lucas think of the webhead's third celluloid appearance?

"It's silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there?"

DISS!!

Yes, I love it! First screenwriter John August comes out and says it and now the grand-poobah of summer films says it's dopey as well.

He continued. "Well, it's not "Star Wars. People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too," he added, with a wink. "But it wasn't..."

BTW, there's good news space geeks - Lucas says he's busy prepping "Clone Wars," an animated series for TV that's derived from "Star Wars" universe.

Furthermore, Lucas also told Fox that he will make two more live-action films based in the "Star Wars" era. "But they won't have members of the Skywalker family as characters," he said. "They will be other people of that milieu."

The duo of new films won't be on the big screen, however, and will also go straight to the boob tube somewhere.
