HAN SOLO, P.I. (hilarious)

It's amazing what some zippy editing and cheesy '80s music will do... God, how I love the Internet.

STAR WARS vs STAR TREK (hilarious)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. They say there are only like 20 basic plots in the world. And after taking that into consideration, notice all the similarities between George Lucas’ "Star Wars: A New Hope" and JJ Abrams’ "Star Trek." Check out this hilarious College Humor video that may contain a few spoilers.

DEATH STAR DESTROYS THE ENTERPRISE VIDEO

Check out this new viral vid that shows the Starship Enterprise being destroyed by the Death Star.

It finally settles the sci-fi battle of Star Trek vs. Star Wars doncha think?

The video was created by M Horn, the same guy who released the Death Star over San Francisco video right around the same time last year.

WHY GEORGE LUCAS SUCKS

How screwed is this??? The Lounge is VERY aware that there's an error message below. It's a prime example of how greedy George Lucas is. Yesterday, I was going to post the entry below. It hawked a fun little site that allowed you to replicate the opening CRAWL scene from the "Star Wars" flicks. I geared it towards a Hemingway novel and embeded it into the blog. It looked way cool.

Not two hours later, did George Lucas' stormtroopers shut down the site. Isn't it bad enough that as "Star Wars" fans we had to but the films like 30 times because of the way Lucasfilm manipulates his fans.

Instead of leaving the site up to perhaps promote his upcoming CGI "Clone Wars" film, the sith himself alienated the exact demographic for whom he has to thank for putting him in the position he's in today.

Thanks again, Lord Lucas... Lookin' forward to dropping a bundle on those remastered BLU-RAY "Star Wars" discs!!

We love this. Star Wars Crawl.com allows fans to create their own custom Star Wars opening crawl. It’s simple, fun and awesome. How long before George Lucas wants to change an arm and a leg for this?? Create your own HERE.

OFFICAL 'CLONE WARS' TEASER RELEASED

We know why George Lucas was pissed with that fake "Tales of the New Republic" trailer floating all over the Interweb the other day ... It was sort of stealing his thunder for the official CGI "Star Wars" animated series "The Clone Wars."

We may not be up on our animation styles, but truth be told, they sort of both look the same. If pressed, I'd say I'd have to go with the fake one. Honestly, I don't care for "The Clone Wars" story or those dopey-looking clones.

While a YouTube link exists for the official "Clone Wars" trailer, I don't want the Lucas mafia to descend upon me. So, that said, the teaser trailer for "The Clone Wars" can be found HERE

Be sure to come back and check out the bogus "Tales of the New Republic" trailer

FAKE STAR WARS 'TALES' TRAILER CAUSING STIR

As awesome as this teaser trailer is - "Star Wars: Tales of the New Republic" - is pretty much bogus. Check it out...

Amidst rumors and despite several contradictions, this new website recently surfaced with images of 3D animated classic characters and several photos that feature Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles, Boba Fett, and more. Alas though, a message was posted late this weekend. I'm guessing George called and wasn't too thrilled.

The post said:

We have been completely overwhelmed by the online response this teaser has generated. We can 100% assure you that this is NOT an official Lucasfilm production and is in no way connected to them. Many thanks to everyone. We will be updating this site once we return from Celebration IV

LUCAS DISHES - 'SPIDEY SILLY' & MORE 'STAR WARS'

At the recent Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala -- you know, the one where Cate Blanchett arrived looking like a ghoul -- Hollywood deity George Lucas had a few interesting things to say, namely to Fox News about a small film called "Spider-Man 3."

Lucas told reporter Roger Friedman that he's seen all of the huge tentpole films due to some out this summer since his company, Industrial Light and Magic, does their special effects.

Interestingly, the only one ILM didn't work on was "Spider-Man 3." Hmmm, so what did Lucas think of the webhead's third celluloid appearance?

"It's silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there?"

DISS!!

Yes, I love it! First screenwriter John August comes out and says it and now the grand-poobah of summer films says it's dopey as well.

He continued. "Well, it's not "Star Wars. People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too," he added, with a wink. "But it wasn't..."

BTW, there's good news space geeks - Lucas says he's busy prepping "Clone Wars," an animated series for TV that's derived from "Star Wars" universe.

Furthermore, Lucas also told Fox that he will make two more live-action films based in the "Star Wars" era. "But they won't have members of the Skywalker family as characters," he said. "They will be other people of that milieu."

The duo of new films won't be on the big screen, however, and will also go straight to the boob tube somewhere.
