TO BOLDLY GO: ADULT 'STAR TREK' BOOBIE FLICK ARRIVES

In our second, it was a matter of time entry this week, check out the trailer for this adult flick based on the "Star Trek" universe.

This comes via Twitch that has the official trailer for Hustler Video’s "This Ain’t Star Trek XXX," a self described “sexy space romp”, which hits store shelves just in time to coincide with the release of JJ Abrams’ big screen blockbuster action reboot.

Possibly NSFW, but no nudity as the trailer is hosted on YouTube.

JJ ABRAM'S NEW 'STAR TREK' TRAILER

Until the official trailer is released sometime this week (or even today), check out this official trailer for JJ Abrams new take on "Star Trek." Let me rephrase -- not a new take per se -- but an exploration of the original Trek characters before we came to know them. I must say, while not a Trekkie (or Trekker for that matter), this trailer has me stoked if only for those sounds I remember hearing while watching the show as a kid. You know what I mean -- the swoosh of the bridge door; the crisis alarm (whooooommmp, whooooommmp) and of course that mesmerizing theme. Check it out...

MORE RESPONSIBLE MARKETING

About a week ago, I waxed poetic about how irresponsible I thought the teaser poster for JJ Abrams' new untitled disaster flick was.

The one sheet depicts a headless Statue of Liberty overlooking a gloom-soaked and nearly detroyed Big Apple skyline. I know it's a fun sci-fi film and all but it just seemed wrong to me.

Well since there are thousands of geeks and fanboys online devoted to everything Abrams, check out this cool faux teaser poster which I think is much more appropriate and equally as effective.

It works. Check out some more fan made posters, HERE.

DOESN'T THIS JUST SEEM WRONG?

Am I the only one thinking this, as I stare at a headless Statue of Liberty with smoke plumes rising up from the Big Apple skyline?

It wasn't that long ago after 9-11 that Hollywood studios wouldn't even think to release a film with as much of a sneeze in terms of violence.

And, if I remember correctly, film releases of the actioner "Collateral Damage" and prison drama "The Last Castle" has to be postponed because of the former's violent nature and title and the latter's image of an upside flag on the one-sheet.

For those not-in-the-know, the above image is from J.J. Abrams new as-yet-untitled sci-fi disaster film. Geeks online have tagged it "Cloverfield," "1-18-08," "Collossus" and "Monstrous."

While the kick booty trailer is a combo of "The Blair Witch Project" and "Independence Day," I must admit that the one sheet is a tad much and perhaps irresponsible promotion and marketing.

In these post 9-11 days of terror alerts and bombings everywhere, I don't think we really need to see an image as horrid as this to sell films.

Well... Maybe only if the flick is about apes, stars Charlton Heston and set wwaaaaaay in the future. True sci-fi.

Done ranting.
