Alrighty ... I know there's many of you out there that fancy yourselves music aficionados. So to that I say ... A challenge!
I came across this great ditty the other day and I thought it would be a change of pace to ask everyone out there who you thought it was.
Listen to the clip below and the satiny, velvety voice ... Name the artist! You'll be the first esteemed outside member of Hemingway's Lounge. Oh, and read the above again. There IS a clue.

The first name that leapt to mind was Bobby Darrin. Darrin is still an underrated crooner, lost in the shadow of Sinatra and Company, his legacy shortened by an early death.
Kevin Spacey's Darrin, bio-pic, Beyond the Sea, was a masterpiece -- don't listen to the critics, who dissed Spacy more for his refusal to go along with current studio views (making the film without their money or input) than for the film itself.
"Cheers!"

Good guess, Paul, but sadly, no dice ...
I love Bobby Darin and even dug Kevin Spacey's incarnation...
As for this challenge, though ... Perhaps another hint I could give is the show SEINFELD.
That's all I'm going to say ...

I still can't make a guess at your mystery singer, but if you're into this kind of music -- very suitable for the Hemingway Lounge -- you should check out the Internet radio station www.martiniinthemorning.com
Everyone with an interest in contemporary standards as sung by the likes of Michael Buble, Renee Olstead, Steve Tyrell, Tony DeSare, Matt Dusk, Michael Andrew (Swingerhead), and Rod Stewart mixed in with the stylings of Sinatra, Sammy, Dean, Peggy Lee, Sarah Vaughn, Anita O'Day and the hundreds of others who have made the Great America songbook a living, swinging, singing legend should be tuning in on the Internet every day to martiniinthemorning.com !
This is the new home for the fantastic blend of music we all listened to on LA radio station The Fabulous 690. Host Brad 'Martini' Chambers is one of the best in the business and, come hell or high water, he is bound and determined to bring this format back to a prominent market –with all of the pizzazz, DJs, and outside dances, concerts, and events featuring the music and 'Lounge Lizard' lifestyle we all crave.
Until then, Brad is working his tail off every weekday morning broadcasting live from 5AM to 10AM and then back for his 'Two Martini Lunch' from noon till 1PM, and then from 6PM to 7PM for 'Sinatra At Six.'
All 'Lounge Lizards In Exile' and anyone else who loves this style of swinging and crooning (and would be delighted to place themselves in the ranks of loyal lounge lizards) need to support martiniinthemorning.com by listening and participating. Be there. Be cool. Be part of the Lounge Life.
