OKAY ... SO CAN WE NOW MOVE ON?

As if everyone didn't already know his name, Sanjaya Malakar, the androgynous, unstoppable singer who captivated millions during his over-long run on "American Idol" run, was finally voted off the show Wednesday night.

Ready for this? Get a hankie... As the inevitable result was announced, the singer wiped away tears and got a big hug from LaKisha Jones, the next lowest vote-getter.
"I'm fine," he told host Ryan Seacrest. "It was an amazing experience."

Ever the comforter, Seacrest replied, "I can promise you: We won't soon forget you."

Um, yes we will. We American audience are a fickle bunch. C'mon.

The 17 year-old string bean, known for his pretty boy looks and ever-changing hairdos (sometimes channeling Patti LaBelle), then performed one last song, "Something To Talk About."

Putting his own twist on the song, he sang, "Let's give them something to talk about - other than hair."

OK ... now that he's history, can we all just MOVE ON?

Until next time,
