Newsweek's fascinating piece delves into a brutal murder in Perugia, Italy where the Orwellian Italy Communications Police track such social networking sites as Facebook, MySpace, using them as virtual crime scenes in regard to this case. When combined with conventional police work, the cyber evidence can place both victim and suspects at specific locations. Spooky enough, this was almost unheard of half a decade ago. YouTube videos are also being used as fodder for probing into the minds of certain suspects and google searches on how to remove bleach leave a chilling path for both cyber cops and conventional detectives.
