KRISTEN BELL AS HARLEY QUINN? ANNE HATHAWAY AS BATGIRL?

Actually, the pics are a fake. But awesome ones at that. The pics come courtesy of an awesome artist at Deviant Art named Josh. Check out more of his amazing work.

Harley Quinn (Dr. Harleen Quinzel) is a fictional character, a supervillainess, in the animated series Batman: The Animated Series, later adapted into DC Comics' Batman comic books. As suggested by her name (a play on the word "harlequin"), she is clad in the manner of a traditional harlequin jester. The character is a frequent accomplice and love interest of Batman's nemesis the Joker, and is also a close ally of supervillainess Poison Ivy.

The character was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm and was voiced in the "Batman: The Animated Series" and its tie-ins by Arleen Sorkin, and most recently by Hynden Walch on "The Batman." In the "Birds of Prey" series, she was portrayed by actress Mia Sara.

The character proved so popular that she was eventually added to the Batman comic book canon (although she had already appeared in the Elseworlds mini-series Thrillkiller in 1997). The comic book version of Quinn, like the comic book version of The Joker, is more dangerously psychotic and less humorously kooky than the animated series version.

Art by Alex Ross.Quinn's DC Universe comic book origin, revealed in Batman: Harley Quinn (October 1999), is largely an adaptation of her animated origin from the Mad Love graphic novel.

A Harley Quinn ongoing series was published monthly by DC Comics for 38 issues from 2001 to 2003. Creators who contributed to the title included Karl Kesel, Terry Dodson, A.J. Lieberman and Mike Huddleston. The series ends with Harley turning herself in to Arkham Asylum. She then appears in the Jeph Loeb series Hush. She is next seen in Villains United Infinite Crisis special, where she is one of the many villains who escape from Arkham. (She is, however, knocked unconscious the moment she escapes).

In the One Year Later continuity, Harley Quinn is an inmate at Arkham, glimpsed briefly in Detective Comics #823.

Harley next appeared in Batman #663, in which she helps the Joker with a plan to kill all his former henchmen, unaware that the "punchline" to the scheme is her own death. Upon realizing this, she shoots him in the shoulder.

Harley resurfaces in Detective Comics #831, written by Paul Dini. She is still a borderline psychotic, but has apparently reformed. Harley has spent the last year applying for parole, only to see her request systematically rejected by Bruce Wayne, the layman member of Arkham's medical commission. She is kidnapped by Sugar, the new female Ventriloquist, who offers her a job; Harley turns the job down out of respect for the memory of Arnold Wesker, the original Ventriloquist, and helps Batman and Commissioner Gordon foil the imposter's plans. Although Sugar escapes, Bruce Wayne is impressed with Harley's effort at redemption, and agrees with granting her parole.

And say that Christopher Nolan were to go with a Batgirl? We say nah... They're not even entertaining the thought of a Robin, I hear. This, though, is how she may look.

'BARACKY' - THE MILLION TO ONE SHOT

This is hilarious. What do you get when you take B-roll of Barack Obama, John McCain and Hilary Clinton and splice it with one of the best "Rocky" films of all time? An awesome parady called "BARACKY"

WAS BATMAN A PEDOPHILE??

Thanks to futureofthebook.org for posting this one... It's times like this that make me question that maybe, just maybe, Golden and Silver-Age Batman might have... just might have ... been a pedophile.

TIMES ARE TOUGH...

...Even on The Batman.

LOST 'IRON MAN' SCENE LEAKED

"Iron Man" is set to land on DVD next month and one of the deleted scenes has been released via Access Hollywood. The three-and-a-half minute sequence shows what happens when Tony Stark wants to throw a last minute party at his house in Dubai. This sequence gives an answer to a plot hole some had, because Stark can’t fly from California to the Middle East in the suit, as it would be technologically impossible.

RIDDLER POSTER: FAKE BUT AWESOME

How awesome is this faux, fan-made one-sheet poster that "teases" to the next villain in the Batman film franchise? Riddle me this...

BODY OF LIES: THE NEXT GREAT SPY FLICK

While the teaser trailer for "Body of Lies," debuted with "The Dark Knight," it didn't exactly give you an idea of what the film was about. Here's the new, extended trailer that's way better. And you gotta love how Leo is coming into his own as somewhat of a tough guy. First "Gangs of New York," "The Aviator," "The Departed" and the awesome "Blood Diamond," DiCaprio is hands down, one of the best actors in the game today.

As for "Body of Lies": Based on Washington Post columnist David Ignatius' 2007 novel about a CIA operative, Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio), who uncovers a lead on a major terrorist leader suspected to be operating out of Jordan. When Ferris devises a plan to infiltrate his network, he must first win the backing of cunning CIA veteran Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe) and the collegial, but perhaps suspect, head of Jordanian intelligence. Although ostensibly his allies, Ferris questions how far he can really trust these men without putting his entire operation - and his life - on the line.

BEING THAT WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT

ROBERT DOWNEY DISSES 'DARK KNIGHT'

Wow. Talk about your throw-downs. Robert Downey, Jr., star of the summer's first unstoppable superhero flick, virtually bitchslapped (been using that word way too much lately) "The Dark Knight." If you read between the lines, it's interesting. "Iron Man" to most was exactly what it set out to be -- a balls-to-the-wall, action-packed, superhero origina tale that worked brilliantly. As much as I dug it, I can see where "The Dark Knight" might have come off as pretentious. Anyway, here's what he had to say to Moviehole.

“The Dark Knight. My whole thing is that that I saw The Dark Knight. I feel like I’m dumb because I feel like I don’t get how many things that are so smart. It’s like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I’m like, ‘That’s not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.’ I loved The Prestige but didn’t understand The Dark Knight. Didn’t get it, still can’t tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I’m like, ‘I get it. This is so high brow and so fucking smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.’ You know what? Fuck DC comics. That’s all I have to say and that’s where I’m really coming from.”

MY NEW VIDEO - 'KEROUAC: KING OF THE BEATS'

OK... Making this one was fun. So there are plenty of Kerouac videos out there. This is a short video I created that tries to capture the aura, essence and bravado of the tough guy scribe. Have a scotch for me, Jack, wherever you are...

And by the way, when in hell is someone going to make a Kerouac biopic?? Looking at him in some of these portraits, I nominate Daniel Craig. Yes... James Bond. They sorta look alike.

CREEPY? JUST A LITTLE ...

Two stars of the yet-to-be released flick "Soul Men" lost two of its stars last weekend. Funnyman Bernie Mac and real-life soul man Isaac Hayes have starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the film that follows two estranged soul legends (played by Jackson and Mac) who reunite at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader.

Power blogger Perez Hilton (ick, I can't believe I'm crediting Perez's site), says all scenes for the forthcoming flick have been shot and the film is in the can. How Dimension Films will market and release the film remain a huge question.

As it stands, the movie doesn’t open until November 14. Movie audience are incredibly fickle but you never know, the suits just may decide to delay it since the overt theme of death is central to the plot.

Odd. Creepy. Sad.

All at once.

R.I.P.: BERNIE MAC DEAD AT 50

Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and comedian Bernie Mac has died at age 50, reports the Chicago Sun Times.

Despite reports earlier in the week that the comic was on the mend, publicist Danica Smith says Mac died early this morning at a hospital in the Chicago area of complications due to pneumonia.

The comedian also suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces small lumps of cells in the body's organs, which Smith says has been in remission since 2005.

He recently had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia. Mac had starring roles in "Ocean's Eleven," "Bad Santa," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Transformers."

On TV, Mac drew critical and popular acclaim with his popular Fox series "The Bernie Mac Show," which aired more than 100 episodes from 2001 to 2006.

TARANTINO VERBALLY BITCHSLAPS TV REPORTER

Fresh off the news that Quentin Tarantino will be casting Britney Spears to play dancer Varla in a remake of the 1965 cult film "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" comes this pretty coll video of the feral director going toe-to-toe with some oscure local TV anchor during his press tour for "Kill Bill." The audio is a little off, but still very watchable.

TOO FUNNY NOT TO SHARE ...

I needed this. After a shitty, shitty weekend, I stumbled upon this great image that answers what happens when a film at a movie theater changes over? Well, funny shit like this I suppose... Thanks to Slashfilm yet again.

MY NEW VIDEO: 'GHOSTS OF THE BLUES'

...You probably won't find more haunting images of the Deep South than in this short video. Dunno where or how this one popped out of my brain. Took me a very brisk two days to finish.

If anyone ever wants to know how, why or where the blues emerged, look no further. Hopefully this can explain... And you also have to love Blind Willie Johnson's haunting moans. WARNING: Some scary images of brutality may not be suitable for younger kids.
