THE FAMED VEGAS IMPLOSIONS

"OCEAN'S THIRTEEN" WEEK CONCLUDES

"Ocean's Thirteen" week concludes appropriately with an ode to the grand Vegas landmarks of yore. The carpet joints that went to the big casino in the sky, making way for the billion-dollar monoliths that pepper the modern Vegas skyline.

We can almost see the boutique resorts in their heyday -- the swankified lounges; the legends in their prime performing in intimate showrooms, crisp suits were the di rigeur; skinny ties and cocktail dresses were the rage not exposed thongs and Red Bull. The casino was smoke-filled and bourban-drenched.

So, here's our ode to kitschy post-war America and, for one last time, let's say goodbye to that atomic age utopia that we'll never see again.
